Looking to make a splash at CES, Hanley Wood, publisher of BUILDER Magazine turned to Actual for the launch of an innovative smart home.
Each year, Hanley Wood, publisher of BUILDER Magazine and the leading provider of business intelligence and data driven services to the construction industry, partners with a US builder on the development of a showcase prototype home. This year, with KB Home, they took the initiative to a new level with Home ProjeKt. Together with other partners including Google, Delos, Tesla, Whirlpool and many others, KB Home built the sustainable, attainable, technology-driven home of the future outside Las Vegas. Hanley Wood enlisted Actual to capitalize on the proximity to CES, the world’s largest electronics show held annually in January in Las Vegas.
Knowing the challenges of getting reporters to travel beyond the Strip, Actual secured well-known tech influencer and USA Today reporter Jennifer Jolly to host a satellite media tour from the home on the eve of CES -- 30 broadcast markets and 30 million plus viewers plus an exclusive feature in USA Today and coverage from the likes of IoT influencer Stacey Higginbotham, Forbes, and The Washington Post were the first wave of coverage to debut the home with significant impact.
